AIRLINK™ RJ-11 IP Gateway Analog to Digital Migration
Simple And Affordable Migration
The AirLink RJ-11 IP Gateway coupled with the AirLink Raven-E or Raven X provides an affordable upgrade path for converting existing circuit switched telemetry applications to cellular packet data networks. The RJ-11 replaces 3 watt analog cellular phones to wirelessly connect to IP-capable host applications without requiring a change to existing infrastructure.
Wirelessly Enabling Legacy Equipment
As analog networks begin to be decommissioned industrial customers are faced with a very serious dilemma; finding an alternative solution for networking their legacy equipment (ATMs, PLCs, RTUs, etc.). The AirLink RJ-11 Gateway simplifies migration from circuit switched analog networks to digital IP cellular technology.
Rugged Intelligence
The Raven X and Raven-E are designed for easy configuration and installation. The platforms are ideal for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications, including primary and back-up data backhaul, remote automation, disaster recovery, and mobile enterprise. The Raven X, Raven-E and the RJ-11 IP Gateway all have embedded intelligence to enable remote configuration and monitoring, remote diagnostics and over-the-air firmware upgrades.
FCC Sunset Clause
The FCC Sunset Clause allows wireless carriers to shut down their analog networks (AMPS) after February 18, 2008. The AirLink RJ-11 IP Gateway enables seamless migration of remote devices currently using the AMPS network for dial-up data transfer. For remote devices that only have RJ-11 interfaces, the RJ-11 IP Gateway provides dial tone and negotiates standard modem protocols. It then establishes a TCP connection to the host over the digital cellular network using an AirLink Raven-X or Raven-E. The RJ-11 IP Gateway also receives incoming connection requests through the Raven-X and appears like an incoming data call to the remote device.
